Job Title:General Manager

Understand, enforce and implement company policies and procedures.
Understand the philosophy and concept of the overall company work breakdown structure.
Understand the relationship between, as well as the operating procedures of the various divisions within the company.
Understand and nurture the relationship between the client/s and the company in accordance with proven guidelines and client requirement.
Manage a business unit with the responsibility for profitability, growth and the success of the operation as well as the implementation of the operating systems and procedures in place, to enable the unit and the employees thereof to achieve the stated performance objectives.
Maintain a positive outlook and provide support to the various reporting functions in order to create an environment for self-motivation of staff.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of activities in the telecommunications and cellular industry.
Report to COO or designated Director on all activities of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The General Manager’s primary responsibility lies in the maintenance, development and growth of the client base of the business, of which he has been made accountable, as well as the successful daily and ongoing management of thereof.
Our customer views its human resources as one of its most valuable assets. To this end the Gerneral Manager is directly responsible for HR functions including the training and development of staff.

Management of the business unit
Management, Liaison and support of clients
Invoicing and Cost controls
Reporting
Implementation and maintenance of Environmental policies and procedures
EDUCATION / SKILLS REQUIREMENT
Completely fluent in both the English and Portuguese languages.
Preferably have an Engineering degree/diploma or a degree/diploma in Business Management.
Computer literate in Windows and the MSOffice suite of programmes.
Creative, articulate, people-orientated.
Must have the ability to think independently.
The ability to listen to the needs of clients and respond positively are highly advantageous qualities necessary to successfully fulfil the requirements of this position.
Must embrace a constant will to learn, be self-motivated and committed to quality in all aspects of the business and its people and through the sharing of information.
Able to work to a budget and within specified time frames.
Able to accept constructive criticism.
The Incumbent must be prepared to travel and to work variable hours without tangible additional rewards .
Punctuality in all things is essential. The encumbent must all times set an example to his staff of puntuality, dedication and commitment to the company’s business objectives.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The incumbent must have at least 2 to 3 years experience in a similar position or 4 to 5 years in a project management position.
Experience in the cellular rollout industry would be advantageous.
